Classroom Life

My Teaching Philosophy...
My goal is to build an engaging, empowering, and fun learning environment where students feel encouraged to laugh and make bold choices. I work with a wide age range of students, aiming not only to improve their acting skills but to ensure they leave each session feeling confident. When working with youth, I strive to create a safe space for exploration, learning, and personal growth—exposing them to various aspects of theatre, including diction, emotions, character work, improv, timing, team-building, and creative thinking.
At this stage in their development, children are still discovering who they are, and they need an environment that promotes positivity and valuable experiences. Theatre is inherently interactive, so I embrace an interactive teaching approach that encourages students to try, and try again, emphasizing the importance of taking a different approach and building upon their creations. There is always more than one way to approach something, and this applies to theatre as well. If I can instill a sense of joy in my students, I can motivate them to work hard and take risks. My ultimate goal is to inspire students to become stronger, more passionate individuals in the theatre arts.

Why is theatre education important...
Theatre education is essential for students as it fosters creativity, teamwork, and communication skills while building confidence and empathy. Through acting, storytelling, and collaboration, students learn to express themselves, understand diverse perspectives, and develop critical problem-solving abilities. These skills not only contribute to personal growth but prepare students for future success.
Theatre must be experienced and taught through hands-on learning.
I wholeheartedly believe in the impact of what I teach because theatre has profoundly shaped my personal growth. It taught me to believe in myself, strengthened my creativity, and boosted my self-esteem. These experiences have inspired me to provide future generations of students with the same transformative opportunities.
It truly is an art form that benefits your overall life!
